Semen Storage
Advances in the fields of oncology, urology and reproductive biology are providing men facing possible sterilization or reduced fertility with new ways to safeguard their future reproductive options. Male patients may want to consider the option of semen storage prior to proceeding with any medical procedure that may result in the loss or impairment to fertility. Cryopreserved semen/sperm may be stored theoretically for several hundred years in liquid nitrogen. Historically specimens stored for as long as 20 years have resulted in a successful pregnancy.
